The NHS is not doing enough to address the rise of ‘prey-proof’ hospitals

By Daniel SandfordThe NHS is a public service, not a private enterprise and there is a lack of understanding about what the public service should look like and what the NHS needs to be doing to make it better, according to an urgent review of the organisation by the independent charity Save the NHS.

In its report, The Future of the NHS, the charity said that there were some areas of concern but overall the report is positive for the NHS in the coming years.

“We believe that the NHS will be better served by a rapid shift towards patient-centred care and an emphasis on patient-centric care, in which all patients are given the same access to the NHS,” said Jane Daley, chair of Save the Children UK.

The report said that the “most urgent challenge facing the NHS today” is that people are increasingly coming into contact with people with mental health conditions, which means the NHS has to look to other parts of the health system for its help.

“The future of the UK health service depends on how quickly we can transform the way we deliver mental health services to make them more accessible to people who need them most,” said Daley.

“This is a challenge we are taking seriously.

Save the NHS also said that many people had been waiting too long to see a mental health professional, which meant they were left waiting too much for treatment.””

However, we believe that our long-term health and wellbeing is more important than our short-term financial performance.”

Save the NHS also said that many people had been waiting too long to see a mental health professional, which meant they were left waiting too much for treatment.

“Many people have been waiting a long time for a mental illness treatment, which has made it harder for people with serious mental health needs to access the services they need,” said Ms Daley in a statement.

“As we have seen in the recent past, it’s not only mental health care that is struggling to keep up with demand, it is also the NHS itself, which is struggling financially to pay for the care it has already been providing.”

The charity called for “a national approach to mental health” and said the NHS should spend more on mental health and mental health treatment.

Save the Children is calling for the Government to fund a “one-stop-shop” approach to the provision of mental health support.

“For too long the NHS have been stuck in a time-consuming, expensive and ineffective system of patient-centered care that makes patients feel like second-class citizens,” said Save the Child’s president, Paul Bannister.

“Instead of the patient-focused model that is essential to making the NHS more efficient and effective, the NHS must focus on patient care as a core element of a comprehensive approach to improving the health of the people we serve.”
